Just got this camera this morning at Best Buy because I wanted something cheap that shot HD video. I took it home and plugged it into the charger for fifteen minutes, saw that the battery indicator was okay and took it to Sea World with me. This video is just an experiment to see what the results are like. I shot it on the Wild Arctic ride, and it goes through the whole experience of getting ready to depart up through exiting into the arctic environment. I felt that the results were fairly good. It's a bit shaky, but I'm getting thrown around the simulator while shooting with it. This was on the wide end, but certainly you have to be careful of shake when using it at the longer focal lengths. I plan on getting a monopod of some sort to stabilize it a bit. Also, I would recommend the optional charger that lets you charge the battery outside the camera body, as well as an extra battery or two. As a "big camera" guy who is just killing time until I see what Canon DSLRs appear later in the year, I'm happy with the camera. It's not what I am used to working with, but at least I have something that shoots video now.
